Celebrating Community Spirit at the Stockport Volunteer Fair
/On Wednesday, 18th September, the Stockport Volunteer Fair brought a fantastic sense of community spirit to Merseyway Shopping Centre. Over 20 local organizations came together to share a wide range of volunteering opportunities, from gardening and maintenance to befriending and skill-sharing, offering something for everyone.
Ted Whittell, from THP Law, attended the fair and was inspired by the overwhelming sense of unity. "It was amazing to see so many people passionate about making a difference in our community," Ted shared. "Stockport really is a place where people support one another, and this event highlighted just how much can be achieved when we come together."

This service is crucial for protecting families’ futures, ensuring that trusted individuals can make important decisions when needed.
Ted also discussed how we, as a law firm in Stockport, could support causes such as the Dementia Disco, offering our time to help make a difference. Volunteering isn’t just about helping others; it’s also about building relationships, learning new skills, and making our community stronger.
The event, led by Stockport Volunteer Hub's Clare Finch, also encouraged businesses to offer Corporate Volunteering Packages. Clare noted, "Stockport’s voluntary sector is thriving, offering a variety of roles for individuals and companies to engage with. It's not just about helping others; it's a way to connect, grow, and give back to the community."
